Smoking goats is an Auckland-based artist whose work merges history, culture, and religion with the absurd to create something new. Influenced by global philosophies and classical etchers such as Doré and Piranesi, he combines precision and spontaneity in his detailed linework.
 
This piece, created live in response to music, captures the rhythm and energy of the performance through expressive marks and layered tones. It also reflects a moment where Smoking goats stepped beyond his usual comfort zone, bringing a new kind of presence and openness into his work.
